“Hawthorn Suites is NOT family friendly!”

I had a few family fly in from out of town and was told that the Hawthorn Suites would be the perfect location for their stay. the rooms were spacious and had a good central location between where locals lived. the Hawthorn itself was great, the customer service on the other hand was terrible. I was first greeted by a nice gentleman who was attempting to check me in until he was interrupted by his co-worker that left her transaction to micro-manage his (while she had a line waiting). Because I am younger (23), I felt it was a pre-conceived notion that I was hosting a party and because of that pre-judgment I believe extra unnecessary procedures took place. mind you, I'm the only internet savvy individual so I was asked to make the reservations it wasn't really by choice. All of my guests from out of town were aunts, uncles and their young children(5-10) and the most "partying" we did was wine and conversation amongst four adults at a time since that is all we were allowed to have in our room and had to keep the children quiet because the staff would do frequent random walk- bys . we reserved two, two-bedroom suites that in most hotels hold about six and they usually allow you visits but no one stays the night which is understandable. unnecessary check-in calls were made to my room frequently (you could tell she was listening to the background) and I felt me and my company's every move was followed and we had no privacy. The customer service team spent so much time focused on my group, they paid no attention to the other groups that actually had parties taking place causing disturbance to us and it felt as if it was based on race. A rather large deposit, that was not made aware to me when I asked while booking the reservation, was charged to my card even though it wasn't expressed over the phone nor did others that referred me to the hotel have to pay it. I also misplaced my cellphone and moved the couch to attempt to look for it. When I moved the furniture, there was a huge pile of dirt left underneath showing they do not clean their rooms thoroughly, leaving chances for bugs and rodents to be attracted. It was sad to see the customer service team give Wyndam a bad name. I have stayed at many of their other establishment and have always felt right at home within reasonable limits. it is safe to say they will not receive business from me or my family and hopefully no one asks my opinion of the hotel in the future because I will share my experience.
