“Chocolate covered terd!”; Nov 25, 2012 Amy M, College Station; What are you looking for in a hotel? If you need to house a couple of employees or money is super tight and you need space to accommodate 4-6 people - then stay here. However, if you are going on vacation or housing perspective clients DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is definitely nothing to write home about!It is a converted apartment complex - I am sorry but a chocolate covered terd is still crap!! Kind of like their claim to a heated pool - the manager said the heated pool was the hot tub!! Their was a busted chain lock, mold and rust in the tub,There were unused ovens stacked in a breezeway and lights in our room without covers as well as exposed wiring. They only put on fresh linens EVERY 5 days!! We got in at 7 pm when the front desk person had to make sure our room was ready?? That seemed odd. When we got in I was immediately ready to check out however we had been on the road for hours and had a fussy baby. The next day was Thanksgiving and thankfully we stayed with family. I can honestly say this place was a dump which I will NEVER stay again!

Dear Amy M,I have tried to reach you by phone to no avail to personally address your comments.That long drive from College Station to Dallas with a fussy baby would put anyone in a bad mood.The Hawthron Suites was built in 1983 as a Residence Inn by Marriott. The front desk clerk you spoke with advised you we have an outdoor pool, jacuzzi (heated) outdoor sports court, state of the art exercise room as well as other amenities .The hotel is presently under renoation which is why you saw the used ovens we are replacing with new ones as well as furniture, carpet, granite counter tops, flat scrren TV, mattress/box springs and linen.Unfortunately, when you checked in, our hotel was sold out and the previous guest had checked out late and we had a housekeeper clean your room.We have daily express housekeeping service as well as well as full service housekeeping service on Wednesdays.If the Hawthorn Suites is not suited for your family needs, I suggest you stay at The Wyndham Hotels which might cater better to your needs.Kindest regards,Marilyn SonnierDirector of Sales « hide
