“not a great experience”

  , Amarillo
When we first arrived there was no one at the front desk. After waiting awhile I finally went searching for him and found him in the bar area talking to another employee. I asked if anyone was manning the front desk and he apologized and decided to finish up his conversation he got me checked in. We went to our room which seemed nice enough except for the blind coming ungled from the window and something that looked like it had been burned on the table. We left for awhile and upon our return to the hotel we decided to go down to the bar area which was vacant and sat down. We waited and waited and then I decieed to go find the bartender and she was outside with the front desk person smoking and I asked again if the bar was open and they again apologized and finished up their cigarette and she ca me in and served us. The next morning we were in a hurry so we gwthered our things and left. The next day after I had noticed that I had forgotten to get my wristwatch from the room. I immediately called the hotel and the front desk said that nothing was returned to the front desk. Since it was Sunday I decided to call back today a Monday and speak with a manager. She insured me that she would look into it. I have not heard anything back yet. I understand its my fault for forgetting the watch but not taking it to the front desk or a manager is still theft in my opinion. It would have to be a situation where we were desperate in order stay at this hotel again. I sure hope my watch is found due to it being special to me because it was a gift from my wife.
