“Feels like coming home”

I have stayed at Ann Arbor's Hawthorn Suites many times over the years, and have taughtclasses in their Oak Room. Overall the hotel is very nice, clean, exceptionally comfortable beds, nicely located, with a great breakfast. It is always like coming home.This trip I found the hotel understaffed. Checking in, I had to wait because the one desk person was busy helping people up to their room. I waited ten minutes in the lobby until the desk gal returned. When one is tired and ready to settle in their room, it is not the most welcoming thing to have to wait. The next morning I went down to use the computer in the lobby. I tried printing my boarding pass for my flight later that day, and the printer was out of paper. I had to look for the desk person once again. I looked around the whole lobby area, the dining area, and could not find anyone around, (even in the kitchen) for almost ten minutes. Granted it was 6am, however it was unsettling to have such a hard time locating staff. I truly hope that this was a fluke...for I have stayed at the Hawthorn Suites at least 30 times over the years, and ALWAYS have had a great experience. I am not giving up onthe hotel, for I feel it is the best in Ann Arbor, however, if this happens again, it will end my relationship with Hawthorn Suites. Hope that the management takes this to heart, and fixes whatever is the problem.
