“Great Place - But Messed Up The WHOLE Weekend!”

Had planned a birthday weekend celebration with a few girlfriends. Placed my reservation almost TWO months in advance and picked this location for a few specific reasons - the penthouses, the outdoor pool and the grills.Arrived at the hotel and was told that we were "bumped" out of our penthouse due to THEM overbooking. Was told that it didnt matter how far in advance I placed my reservation - it was based on who checked in first - and obviously we checked in last.SUPER UPSET at this point! The weekend we had been looking forward to for months started on a very sour note! We were given two choices - go to another hotel and cancel our reservation - OR - take two studio rooms. We had perishable food that needed refrigerated, and didn't know anything about the other location, so we took the two studios. That meant our entire party had to be split up!!The staff did the best they could I guess and we apologetic and friendly - but I was NOT happy and this WILL affect my future business with this location. I can no longer count on having a valid reservation, and a room waiting on me when I travel to that area. The property itself is a clean, nice place with great rates. Just not happy with how the situation was handled.They did give us one studio free, but that really wasn't a big deal as it only reduced what we paid by $15.00. The inconvenience was worth FAR MORE THAN THAT!
