“lipstick on a pig or not done with a remodel?”

I wanted a special couple of nights for my wife and booked a room with a hot tub. Internet didn't work in the room so I'll never know if the hot tub works. The night clerk (who was ill and shouldn't have been working with the public) didn't know what to do, but we finally convinced him to move us to another room. Internet was slow and sporatic everywhere except the lobby. The heater made sounds, the sound on HBO didn't work on the old TV, the water on the stool ran to fill the tank every 5 or 6 minutes until I shut it off to sleep, and although I was told there would be a reception on the first night of the stay - it didn't happen (maybe the clerk was too ill to pour beer).While I don't know if ownership is trying to put lipstick on a pig by making things look good and not worry about the details of what guests want or they are just not done with a remodel, something should be done immediately or the facelift won't matter because no one will return.
