“Terrible property with no flashing toilets”

  , Fort Lauderdale
This was a somewhat neglected and decrepit property. The layout is like Residence Inn extended stay with studio and two room suites. It is located in a not so good looking neighborhood and on one side borders I-70 and on the other side had a burned down hotel that looked like a drug den complete with grafiti and was demolished to the ground while we stayed there. They had us sign a form that informed us no parties are allowed and when I asked them if they have a problem with that they said no. Yet on the last night of our trip there was a wild party going on above our head and we had to call the police to quiet it down because the lonely little girl at the front desk was not capable of confronting the people in that suite. The first two days I did not have a toilet that flushed and finally after two days they had to move us to another room. I heard from other guests that they had problems with their bath tubs clogged as well. The suite they moved us to looked like it had not ever been vacumed and during the 9 days of our stay due to sporting event no one vacumed and no change of linnens occurred either (they said every 5 days, count them 5 days they change the bedding). Breakfast consisted of nucked eggs and burned potatoes and at that you could not take it out of breakfast room so my son who slept late did not get any during our 9 days. The wooden railings around the second floor suite creaked and were loose and since no one swept the common areas, for most of the 9 days we were there the refuse the neighbor downstairs had thrown around the stairs collected huge flying objects!!! The telephone in the room was so grimy that each time I had to use it I kept it aways from my face and mouth. The front desk staff were confrontational and uncaring. The general manager was very nice though and he porfusely apologized for lack of flushing toilets after two days and upgraded us for free though. There are no elevators so I alone had to drag heavy luggage and sport equipment up two flights of stairs. There are no bellman to helpo with that either. I would not receommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Very dirty and unkempt.
