“I had to stay one extra day due to business. Told the...”

I had to stay one extra day due to business. Told the staff the night before I was due to check out and gave the ok to bill my credit card. The next morning the phone in my room rang the woman on the other end ID herself as Tanya and she asked me if was planning on staying, again I informed the front desk I was, she asked could she put the extra day on my credit card, again I said yes. Less then five minutes after hanging up Tanya called again and said I need a new card because the card on file was denied. I went down stairs to the front desk and again she tried to process my card and again she told me denied. the other desk person with her instructed Tanya to try the other card reader. Tanya showed me the three attempts slipped and they all showed transition failed not denied. When the other card was used the transition was approved. If Days Inn are going to have staff at the front desk, they should make sure they are trained well.
