“Average experience at average hotel”

This property did not reflect the quality of Wyndham hotels where I've previously stayed. The room was acceptable and the lobby had coffee available. However, even basic breakfast was not available when I left for the airport in the morning. The shuttle service was convenient from the airport to the hotel. But the check in process was very slow and neither very polite nor welcoming. After waiting 20 minutes to check in, I was told that the morning shuttle to catch my flight was booked, and I would need to take a taxi to the airport for $30. Travelers should be warned that the availability of a free shuttle service apparently does not guarantee that it will be available. Other travelers were complaining about parking and shuttle issues when I checked in. Check-out was fast and more helpful, with the desk clerk even cancelling my pre-booked taxi and arranging a shuttle seat after all. However, this only took place because of another problem: unreserved passengers took the seats of reserved passengers on the scheduled shuttle. An additional airport shuttle was unexpectedly booked for bumped passengers due to complaints, making seats available for others, myself included. This experience shows that services and treatment can vary at this hotel and are inconsistent. consistent. Next time I will seek a better hotel closer to the Sacramento Airport. It was not inexpensive considering the location and quality overall.
